P2 - Plumber Journeyperson

efficiencies. The Plumber Journeyperson is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing various
plumbing fixtures & systems including gas & hydronic steel piping, PVC, bathroom fixtures, drain systems,

Essential Traits for Success:
 Perform general labor and clean-up as requested, or as needed.
 Understand the skilled principles of plumbing, construction, repair, and maintenance.
 Receive and properly store job site materials for effective job site coordination.
 Ability to read and interpret a construction document, mechanical drawing / submittal, or invoice.
 Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using
test equipment and hand tools, measuring devices, etc.
 Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain systems, piping, or other related
equipment.
 Demolition and removal of various plumbing fixtures, piping, and related components.
 Core-boring of concrete, or wood interior / exterior walls for associated plumbing systems &
fixtures, fire-stopping & sleeves.
 Roughing-in and installation of various types of plumbing material.
 Have a familiarity with Uponor Pex, Pro Press, Mega Press for both gas & hydronic steel piping.
 Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices,
aerial lifts, drills, and hand tools.
 Pull pipe or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed or open areas, large
tools, and be very comfortable working with your hands.
Plumber Journeyperson’s Qualifications & Skills:

● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and able to consistently follow written processes
and procedures.
● Excellent mathematical skills are preferred.
● Ability to read and understand blueprints.
● Ability to stand, lift, maneuver weights that may exceed 50lbs.
● Strong verbal communication skills
● Bilingual abilities are preferred.
Education, Licensing & Experience Requirements:
● Two (2) Years of Licensed Plumbing Experience, preferred.
● High School Diploma or equivalent
● Must hold & maintain an Active CT Plumbing Journeyperson’s License, P1 or P2
● Current, within last 5 years, OSHA 10 Outreach for Construction Certification is preferred.
● Active Driver’s License with an ability to maintain reliable transportation.
