Commercial Product Manager – Product & Sales Strategy

North Hampton, MA
Build Products. Build Revenue. Build a Career.
We are seeking a Commercial Product Manager who wants significantly more than roadmap administration. This role sits at the intersection of product, pricing, sales performance, and account growth, giving you direct influence over commercial outcomes. You will own product line performance, shape commercial strategy, strengthen visibility into our independent sales network, and grow into broader commercial leadership.
We’re not simply aiming to fill a role—we’re looking to invest in someone ready to grow beyond it. If you’re intellectually curious, commercially disciplined, and motivated by true ownership, this role is designed for you. It offers clear upward mobility for those who demonstrate capability and drive.

Who We Are
Royal Talens in Northampton, Massachusetts is the North American headquarters of the Royal Dutch color house in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Royal Talens has been crafting some of the world’s most trusted brands of art materials since 1899. Our mission is to be the preferred supplier in the creative color industry. Every team member helps extend our 125+ year tradition of artistry and innovation.

Our Core Values
These principles guide how we work and how we serve our customers:
  • Team Oriented – We collaborate openly and support one another.
  • Ownership Mindset – We take responsibility and follow through.
  • Integrity (Acting Royally) – We act with honesty, professionalism, and respect.
  • Passion for Quality – We care deeply about doing things right.
  • Respect for the Customer (Internal & External) – We serve with fairness, clarity, and consideration.

We operate primarily in-office because we feel that real collaboration and shared spaces strengthen our work, increase the speed of decision-making, and foster deeper dialogue, relationships and better outcomes, overall.

We believe strong businesses are built by people who ask better questions, understand the numbers behind decisions, and are willing to sit in the tension between product strategy and sales reality.

  • Analyze pricing scenarios and profitability by account

Growth Path
  • Year 1:   Deep P&L ownership; influence sales strategy via reporting/analysis; take responsibility for selected house accounts.
  • Year 2:   Broaden commercial decision authority; expand ownership or collaboration of key accounts; lead territory performance initiatives.
  • Future:   Manage the independent rep network; shape commercial strategy across product lines; advance toward senior commercial leadership.

Who Thrives Here

  • Enjoys understanding how the business truly works
  • Can draw correlations from data points, seeing where patterns exist.
  • Is comfortable presenting to sales teams and customers

  • Sales Strategy / Sales Operations
  • Or a related field with P&L exposure

  • A purely roadmap-focused product role
  • A narrow analytics-only position
  • A short-term steppingstone

We are seeking someone interested in building a multi-year career and expanding their influence.
